Gratitude is a powerful word and a powerful strategy in business.
Practicing gratitude changes your world and can positively change the world of others.
Have you been kind to yourself and to others?
Do you appreciate what you have, or are you constantly complaining about what you do not have?
As time goes by, we get life trials, face difficulties, and survive personal tragedies. But one thing that is very important is not to forget that incorporating gratitude in everyday tasks can make the whole world kind and is a spark to generate inspiration in life.
How do we do that? Even in times of greater darkness?
Practicing gratitude requires will and wish.
This daily routine could improve looking at life differently:
- Pause and close your eyes, then
- Think about what you are grateful for, and say “thanks”, and then
- Reflect, take a deep breath, and relax
30 seconds to a minute can make you feel different.
Some could think that reflecting on gratefulness is the hardest step but deciding to have a moment during the day to remember to pause is the challenge.
After pausing, thinking and reflecting are awakened.
Pausing from everyday routine, away from the stress or thoughts about work, losing weight, or the necessity of making money does a major difference and create channels for inspiration.
To be thankful is good for business.
After 2020, the World is different.
We are different.
In this Post-Pandemic World, how do we show thankfulness?
How can we virtually show and practice gratitude to establish better connections with colleagues?
Remote working is part of our daily routine. Therefore, how to express yourself, and how to really “talk” is paramount. Because knowing how to communicate establishes better relationships.
On Fridays, a “virtual coffee break” could be a place to show thankfulness from a remote location.
How?
The Friday “Coffee and Cake” hour at the office could be changed to the “Click and Connect with Coffee and Cake”. Now a small video window makes the presence, with probably a nice virtual background picture.
So, what else?
A great start is to thank your colleagues for their time and efforts and converse including ice breaker ideas or themes to share, like:
Travel experiences and/or interesting travel destinations.
BBQ recipes for summer. Cooking is soothing and can develop a meditative state for developing inspiration.
Send a greeting/voucher card or send a donut or cake to share virtually! This will be a surprise for all team members!
Conclusion
Remember team-based appreciation is good and showing gratitude to the whole team is important.
To merit the accomplishments of all is paramount and team recognition can positively change the team´s internal communication.
Practicing empowerment is necessary to be happy at work. Now than ever, it is important to generate psychologically healthy workplaces.
Say Thanks! It is very easy!
To end this writing, I would like to pause and say:
Thank you all!
Thanks to family, friends, and colleagues for all the support given during this year 2022!
